Consent matters — even when you’re on all fours! 🐾

Pet play is supposed to be fun, but paws, headspace, handlers, packs, gear, and excited pups can sometimes make boundaries a little fuzzy. Momma Dawn is here to help everyone remember their manners and stay in their own yard!

We’ll talk about approaching pets, touching people and gear, respecting personal space, negotiating play, communicating boundaries, and knowing when to ask before you pet the puppy. Whether you’re a pup, pet, handler, or just curious about the community, you’ll pick up some simple ways to make play safer, more respectful, and a whole lot more fun.

Because a good pup knows that consent deserves a treat. 🐾

🎤 MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Momma Dawn has been part of the Bayou City Pups and the Houston pup/pet/critter community going on seven years. She is a member of San Antonio Kennel Klub, the Texas Puppy Club, Leather boys of Houston, The Empire of the Royal Sovereign Imperial Court of the Single Star, Inc, Houston Misfits, and the Houston Bears. She was Texas Handler 2024 and Ms. Houston Leather 2022 & 2023. Momma Dawn is also founder of HALO - Houston Area Leather Organization, co-founder of Texas Leather Generation Project, co-founder of Gulf Coast Pup and Handlers and Galveston Pup Weekend and producer for the Galveston Pup contest. Momma Dawn is also the founder and producer of the Space City Leather contest. She is involved in several organizations throughout Eastern Texas that help and support those in our extended community. Momma Dawn does her best to provide a safe space for those in need, giving unconditional love and support.
