Our Mission

Only through education, socialization, leadership AND service can our common goals of personal and community growth be realized.  We are a pack:  unique individuals coming together to make a stronger whole.

The Bayou City Pups were founded by 5 driven individuals: 4 pups and 1 handler.  Each with the desire to make a change in the Houston community, as well as create a forum for all pups and handlers to socialize, learn and grow.  A series of intense meetings, strong leadership, and quick decisions pushed the group forward in the Summer of 2014 after nearly 2 years of discussions.
The Houston area pup community had lacked a structured and solid organization to call their own for a very long time.  Not since the days of the Lone Star Boys of Leather, who ran the original pup contest which would become the International Puppy and Trainer Contest, has the pup community had a home here.  Seeing the need, the 5 founders came together and decided it was time to bring a bit of order to chaos.  In September of 2014, the Bayou City Pups ratified their bylaws and filed as a non-profit organization with the State of Texas.
